CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Submission of abstracts is possible from now until 31 July 2025. Before you submit an abstract, you must register (without any payment). If you are ready to submit an abstract, you will find a link at the end of this page.

Notification about acceptance of the abstract will be send before 15 August 2025. The members of the scientific committee will assess the abstracts regarding the topic of the conference and the quality of the presentation.

After acceptance, the abstracts will be published on the conference website. At least one author of the abstract must register for the conference for the abstract to be included in the programme.

All topics concerning biohazards at the workplace are welcome. This can be a typical biohazard (e.g. organic dust) or a special workplace (e.g. barber shop) analysed for exposure to different biohazards. Studies or discussions on legal regulations and their implementation are welcome as are examples of good practice. We hope for many engaging scientific abstracts. Abstracts discussing opinions or reports of daily practice are also included. However, we will not accept abstract advertising special products.

Abstracts can be submitted for either oral presentation or posters.

The oral presentation will allow for a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation with an additional 5 minutes for questions and answers. Printed versions of the posters will be presented throughout the two days of the conference.

Guidelines for abstract submission

The abstract should contain a title and an author list (name and given name) with institute affiliations. If applicable, the abstract should be structured as follows: introduction, methods, results, and discussion. The abstract can contain up to 500 words.

You may include a short list of references; however, this is not required. The abstract should be submitted in English.

Guidelines for oral presentation

The presentation should start with the title and the list of authors. The second slide should contain a conflict-of-interest statement, and the third slide, a brief outline of the presentation. If appropriate, acknowledgments should be given on the last slide. In total, there should not be more than 20 slides for a 15 minute presentation. The presentation should be in English. Please remember to speak slowly so that those who are not native speakers can better understand you. There will be no interpretation service at the conference.

You may wish to use this template, but this is not required. However, please use the format of the slides given in this example.

After the conference, the PDFs of the presentations will be displayed on the conference website for another two years if you consent to this.

Guidelines for poster presentation

The posters will be printed. They should be no larger than DIN A0 and in portrait format. Boards and material for hanging the posters will be provided. During lunch and coffee breaks, you should be prepared to present and discuss your poster. If possible, include pictures, a table, or a graph in your poster. Summarise the main messages of the poster in three to five bullet points. Make sure that your poster can be read from a distance of 2 m (font no smaller than 36; in tables, a font of 26+ is OK). An example of a poster we consider reader friendly is provided here.

A print service with no charge is available. However, please make sure that the PDF of your poster is sent to the conference office 10 days before the conference starts.

After the conference, the posters will be displayed on the website of the conference for another year.
